Vacation's Over (Oh No)

Chuck enjoyed his birthday dinner at Fork in the Alley and thanks to everyone that was able to join us.

Thursday, Chuck and I left early to head to Cass, WV to the Scenic Railroad State Park. It was definitely worth the trip. The train ride was awesome and the sites amazing. Pictures are on shutterfuly if anyone is interested. We want to go back for either a Saturday night Fiddles & Vittles ride or in October for their Halloween ride. Both sound really cool.

Friday was our annual GNO pool party. Well we definitely need rain and so we got it about an hour before the party started and it continued on for the night. But hey, rain doesn't bother anyone when there is Kentucky Lemonade, Bloody Mary's and Beer Margaritas so I think everyone still enjoyed the night. There were 12 of us all crowed on the deck, with the music going, yummy food and some really good drinks so the rain didn't bother us. In between a few showers, we even had a few that went for a dip in the pool. Worst part of the night was probably at the beginning when the grill caught fire from all the grease and I mean the flames went up. Luckily, we found the baking soda and put it out. It was a mess! The hamburgers had survived but the hot dogs weren't so lucky. We had more dogs so we cooked them inside. Overall, it was a terrific time even with the rain (which we really did need).

Saturday, Chuck spent most of the day helping Danny and Bill. I just laid by or in the pool with my book. Corey and some friends came later for a swim so it was nice as usual to spend some time with them and Reagan. She ended up spending the night with us. Later she enjoyed sitting on the deck with us watching the deer.

Today we went to church. I love when Reagan is here and we're getting ready. While I do my hair and makeup, she has to do hers. It's so cute and she stands looking into my mirror doing her hair, etc.

After church, Chuck and I came home and made some lunch. He has watched movies all day and I have laid by or in the pool reading. Believe it or not, I have ready two books and three magazines this week.

I've had a very nice vacation but I guess it's time to get back to work. This week should be a busy week, my message light is flashing in my office and I looked at my emails (yes, I couldn't stand it) and I have about 30. Oh, and I have a doctor's appointment first thing tomorrow morning so that should get the day rolling. I tried to reschedule since it's my first day back but since its a referral from my regular doctor I would have had to wait about 3 weeks to get another appointment.

I will have to admit that even with a pool in your backyard, I do miss actually going somewhere for the entire week. Maybe next year we can go back to Chincoteague.

Vacation Week

So far my vacation week is off to a great start. We celebrated 4th of July with a family cookout and had a great turnout. Lots of yumming food, swimming, etc. Ended the night watching fireworks by the pool and some even enjoyed homemade banana splits.

Corey, Bobbie and Reagan came over on Monday (since they were off) and we had leftovers and then enjoyed some pool time. Reagan LOVES the pool. It was extremely hot so the pool was really nice.

This morning Chuck and I got up and went to Shoneys for breakfast to begin his birthday celebration. He is 57 today, so Happy Birthday to the most wonderful, caring, adorable husband I could have asked for! Tonight we are celebrating with some of the family for dinner at Fork in the Alley.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Chuck and I are headed to Cass, WV to take the train ride up the mountain. We have been wanting to do this for some time. Will have to post more on this later.

Friday is our annual GNO Pool Party so we are looking foward to that as well.

Other than those scheduled activities, the rest of the week is relaxing by the pool with my book or just doing whatever pops into our mind at the time. This week is just a vacation of relaxation.

Well, time to get back to vacating (haha) and get in the pool.

Hope everyone is having a cool week!!
