COMPUTERS AND ME DON'T GET ALONG

I got a new laptop for work and along with it comes a set of instructions to get it set up, migrate all my data from the old to the new. Hey how hard can it be. Well, let's see I started around 1:30 today and backed up the old computer just be be safe. Then around 4 pm I unhooked all the cables etc. Hooked up the new laptop, new keyboard, mouse, new screen and by 4:40 I was okay -- I can do this. Whoa there, now comes the instruction booklet. First problem I can't resolve so I can tech support at our Home Office. At 5:50 I said hey -- gotta go to FedX so guess we'll have to continue tomorrow morning. Left and went to FedX and later tonight thought I would give it another try. It's 7:30 and YIPPEEE I got it to work. Went through about 5 more setup steps and now I'm ready for the Migration that could take a couple of hours. Hey, let's get it going and I'll go watch some TV. Well, let's see it is nbow 10:10 and yes that's right I am still here trying to get it to work. Well actually I just gave up until I can call tech support tomorrow morning. Thought I would blog and tell everyone how handy I am where computers concerned.

Anyone need any help???????????

Happy Holidays

Wow, I can't believe my last blog was in September. I have a hard time finding the time to blog.

So much has happened since September. Nick and Shay were married. Chuck and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Shay was diagnoised with cancer. Corey and Bobbie thought they had their house sold only to find out it didn't go through. Corey got a second job so they could rent Nick's house until they can buy it. Charlie fell and fractured his shoulder. We celebrated Reagan's second birthday! We were fortunate to see Nick and Shay the beginning of December and enjoy our family dinner tradition at Crown Sterling. Christmas Eve was wonderful having Jimmy and Sharon here to celebrate with us but unfortunate and sad that Nick and Shay wasn't here. Shay was in the hopsital recovering from her surgery which we are so very thankful that everything went great. Knowing that Christmas morning would be a reminder of my dad's death and sad that I would not have all my family (Nick and Shay) with us my thanks go to Bobbie for sharing their Christmas morning. Bobbie, Corey and Reagan spent Christmas Eve with us and we got to spend Christmas morning with them and Reagan. And even though it was sad remembering my dad and missing Nick, it was a delight to watch Reagan open her gifts, etc. So as you can see the past few months we have have celebrated some good moments and some sad ones. Through all the hard times I think our family's faith in God is what has seen us though. We all have realized that it's not the gifts but the time spent with family that is so important.

My wish for the NEW YEAR is we all continue to be thankful for what we have and to remember that there is always those that are worse off than we are. In addition to being thankful, I do however wish that Corey and Bobbie's house WILL SELL; that Corey will not have to work a second job; that Shay recovers 100% and is able to go back to work, that Nick and Shay will be able to find a house they can afford to rent; and finally - if it's "God's will" then Aundi and Wes will be blessed with the miracle of a baby.

Until next time,
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Gayenelle
