Friday was my birthday so I decided to take a few hours off work so I finished up around 3. Chuck had been to the store, bought me a cake, my favorite ice cream, some chips and cookies. We decided we would watch some of our taped NCIS shows (we have fallen in love with this show). We watched a show and ate some of our goodies, watched another show, ate some more and continued this until around 11:30. What a relaxing birthday, just watching NCIS and stuffing my face!
Tonight, Sharon made dinner for me and it was super yummy, lasagna! She makes the best lasagna ever. Afterwards we talked and had a really nice time. As we got ready to leave we notice it was sleeting. We made it back of course but the roads were alittle rough (snow) from Lexington to Natural Bridge. The closer we got to Roanoke it was more rain/sleet than snow. It's supposed to snow some later tonight into early morning but who knows what we will have by morning.
Well it's getting late so I should probably get to bed.

WONDERFUL FAMILY WEEKEND
What a fun weekend with my family! Friday afternoon Chuck and I started on the making of our "Chicken Pot Pie" as Nick and Shay watched some of the process before they headed out for a night on the town with some friends.
Saturday morning Chuck got up really early to leave for his class he had to teach. While he was gone I straighten up the house a little and got ready for the family.
Corey came by so he and Nick could go and spend some brotherly time together. Bobbie, Reagan and I shared some lunch while waiting on Shay. Shay got here and she and Bobbie enjoyed some "girl talk" while I played with my little girl. Chuck got home early afternoon and he began the pie crust while Reagan and I helped. Later on when the boys came back we all enjoyed some delicious Chicken Pot Pie. I think it had been over a year since we had made it but it was a good as ever. Then it was card time. Shay and Nick taught Bobbie and Corey Canasta and Progressive Gin. Everyone had a super time. As always, I enjoyed having everyone here all together.
After Corey and Bobbie left, Chuck retired to bed but hey don't want to waste any time so Nick, Shay and I watched my taped Greys and Private Practive until after midnight but of course not without some snacks (I made cookies). I wanted to enjoy the time I could with them since they were leaving Sunday.
Well on Sunday, Corey, Bobbie, and Reagan came back for another visit (YAH!) and we enjoyed our leftovers and more cards. I think Bobbie is addicted now to Canasta.
The card games lasted all afternoon so Nick and Shay decided to stay until Wednesday (YAH). Between playing a few hands of cards, playing with Reagan and just watching everyone have such a fun time, Chuck and I had a wonderful family weekend.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

MEMORIES
Today is the anniversary of my Mom's death. In some ways it seems like forever ago and in other ways it was just yesterday! You would think that by now I could think of her and even write this without crying but I can't. But what this blog is about is Memories and I do have billions of her so that makes me smile.
So with the "Memories" theme I wanted to share some truly wonderful memories that have been made so far this week. Nick and Shay have been in this week and I am so greatful and blessed that they have been able to be here for a whole week! I have enjoyed every minute even though I have worked during the day, we have had lunches and dinners together just about every day. At nights they have taught us some new card games and we have had so much and so many laughs. Let's just say that some of the funny things... well you just had to be there. Anyways, I am looking forward to the rest of the weeek and enjoying more time with them.
We are trying to get the whole family together this weekend for some "chicken-pot-pie" (family recipe) and make even more memories.
So in closing we should enjoy our families and try to spend as much time as possible making those memories because Memories will be with you always!!!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!

It's Been A While ............
Well it's been a while since I last wrote and here we are into the New Year. Well let's just say so far 2009 has not been better than 2008. I think we all have been sick with the flu and/or colds, etc. The weather needs to make up its mind. We haven't had any snow here although I know some have had more than their share.
I'm ready for Spring and some warm weather. I think I have cabin fever. It seems lately that I go all week without even going out of the house. I work all day and then at night we have dinner and then watch TV. I'm ready for a vacation. Right now we are waiting until we do our taxes to determine if we will be able to take a vacation.
I think we all are praying that the economy turns around. I always have to stop and remind myself that there are those worse off than us. We really don't have it that bad it just seems that the cost of everything is going up and we live pay check to pay check. I pray that everything in our children's lives works out as well. They have all had their shares of ups and down as well.
We are looking foward to watching Reagan on Friday night so Corey and Bobbie can celebrate an early Valentine's Day. Then on Saturday Chuck and I are planning a quiet Valentine dinner here at home which we are looking forward to.
Hopefully, Nick and Shay will be able to come in next weekend as I miss them so much. I didn't get to see them for Christmas and I am anxious to see them.
Hope everyone has a good week and a great Valentine's Day with your Loved Ones!
