After returning from a week in Milwaukee for our annual meeting, it was rough having to work last Thursday and Friday. Luckily, Shay was in town so Chuck and I met her for lunch on Thursday which was really nice. Friday afternoon she came by the house so we could visit some more. It was so nice to see her but it was different not having Nick home as well.
Anyways, Saturday Chuck and I spent the day picking, snapping, and freezing beans. Wow by the evening we were exhausted. But when the phone rang at 8:30 and Lynn and Danny wanted to come up and play Dominios, well we got a second wind and were fired up. We played until 11:30 and had a great time.
We thought we might get to see Shay again on Sunday before she left but while we were waiting to hear from her, Corey invited us to lunch. We met them at El Rodeo for some yummy Mexican. Reagan was a doll as usual. We got to actually visit and talk which we really hadn't done for a while. It was a very nice long relaxing lunch.
Afterwards Chuck and I stopped by the store for a few items and then headed on home. I felt so tired and wore out (due to recent health issues) that I decided to take a nap. About two hours later I awoke when Tucker heard something. I looked out the bedroom window and could see part of a truck. Sleepy eyed I got up and hollared for Chuck that someone was here. As I came down the hall into the kitchen, Chuck was just standing there. I said "who is it" and he said I don't know. What do you mean, you don't know? Is someone here or not? Then from behind I got my SURPRISE --- it was Nicholas! Wow, I was estastic. What are you doing here??? It seems that everyone knew he was coming to get Shay and he wanted to surprise me. Well it was a surprise that I will always remember.
Nick was able to stay through Tuesday and it was really nice having him home. Corey was off on Monday so he and Reagan came down and spent the entire day with us. We were hoping that Bobbie would come down after work but she was sick and didn't get to make it. I had the most wonderful day having Corey and Nick both here. We were able to enjoy some swimming, playing cards, eating of course, and overall just hanging out together. Of course, everyone enjoyed playing with Reagan. She is growing up so fast.
Tuesday it was back to work but I did manage not to work too much so I could spend more time with Nick and Shay. We went to BoJangles for dinner and then they got on the road around 6:30 for their long drive home.
It was so great getting to see them again and I can't wait till Labor Day to see them again.
Remember to keep Shay and her surgery next week in everyone's prayers.
Love,
Gayenelle
PS -- Corey asked if I cried when Nick surprised me and I said no. He said he lost that bet. Sorry Corey, you should have bet on my crying when Nick is leaving not when he is arriving. I always seem to cry when he's leaving.
