April 2008

It's hard to believe that this month is almost over. Summer will be here before you know it.

The week of April 14th, I went with Chuck to VA Beach for the state class he was teaching. Monday through Wednesday was nice but cool and then Thursday got alot warmer. Not warm enough for the beach but nice to walk around, etc. I had a great time just hanging out, shopping, walking around, reading, napping, etc. while he was in class all day. Very relaxing week and the best part of all --- work did not call me once! On Friday it was absolutely beautiful and really hot --- our day to leave (of course) but we headed to Williamsburg for some fun. We shopped around and ate at the College Deli as usual and then headed on home.

Chuck and I are looking forward to May and warmer weather. It seems we get a few beautiful days and then it gets cold again. We are getting anxious to open the pool but need to wait on some funds first so we can have a pool guy take a look at why the pool's been leaking water. Hopefully we will have it open by Memorial Day and we can have our first official pool party for the summer.

We are excited that we are going to see Nick and Shay in May as well. Corey, Bobbie and Reagan are going as well. We all can't wait to see them, see where they are living, etc.

Last year Nick and Chuck planted a garden and the deer ate EVERYTHING!! Yes, EVERYTHING. So this year Corey and Chuck have begun the garden again and they are preparing for the deer. They are putting in an electric fence so lets hope for some yummy vegetables this summer. Sorry deer you will need to find food elsewhere this year.

Today has been so cool and cloudy that it's a little dreary. We got up this morning and went to Corey's for a wonderful lunch. He and Bobbie had fixed some really yummy BBQ chicken, corn on the cob and let's not forget the best Shimp Boats. Everything was great. We had soooo much fun with Reagan --- she is growing and so much fun. She is our pride and joy!

We bought her a baby swing for the swing set we have and she loves swinging and is so cut holding her hands in the air and giggling. Our goal is to stain the playset this summer, get a sliding board and even fix a sandbox in the bottom of the playset for her.

For those that may not have heard --- Chuck was approved by the state to teach the CE's for contractors renewing their licenses. So he and Larry have opened their business Co-Train (short for Code Training)and should begin classes some time in May. Hopefully all will go well for them. They can set the classes when and where they want and as often as they want. They are planning one night a week maybe twice a month so wish them luck as they begin. A great BIG thanks go to Corey for setting up the website for his Dad. The website is www.co-trainva.com so you should check it out. Great Job Corey!!!!

Well, I guess I've rambled on enough for now. Hope everyone has a great week.

Until next time,
Gayenelle (Memaw)

March 31, 2008

Wow, it's the last day of March. What a month! It has definitely been a busy month for me.
For Easter we had dinner for 18 adults -- I know it's hard to believe but yes all 18 adults and Reagan in her highchair all ate in the kitchen at the same time. It was a wonderful day. We were dissapointed that Nick and Shay were not with us and that Betty was sick. Hopefully, next year we will have everyone -- and that would mean 22 adults.

This past Saturday we were so excited that Nick and Shay were coming in so we decided to have Aundrea's birthday dinner on Saturday so everyone would be able to be together.
We had dinner for Aundrea and then the young all went out for a little fun on the town while Memaw and Poppi enjoyed that evening with Reagan. We had a ball playing with her, laughing, etc. She is our pride and joy -- guess you kinda guessed that we LOVE being grandparents.

On Sunday Corey helped Chuck with some computer problems (THANKS, THANKS)and then Nick and Shay came by for a little while before getting back on the road for KY. I really miss them but we are planning a trip to KY for May so we should see them again soon.

As for other recent happenings, Deanna resigned from the company and I have moved into her position. Last week was my first week and Bob was in Greece so believe me it was a week to remember. However, I am grateful to have my job since General Transport is closing. Getting back into the Insurance is kind of exciting now since I have been doing trucking for four years.

Anyways, that about it for now. Hopefully I will be able to blog more often. Thank you Corey for showing me how!!!
