May 2008

Well May is coming to an end. What a busy month with alot going on!

Chuck's new company (Co-Train) has held two classes and is off to a great start. The next one is this Saturday (31st) so 3 clasess for May is great! I've been going to the classes for about an hour to get everyone register, work up the certificates, etc. and then I leave. This Saturday is a diffent class and an all day one in Moneta so I won't have to go to that one.

For Mother's Day this year, Nick and Corey were going to celebrate with me the following weeking in KY when we went up to visit with Nick and Shay. Unfortunately, circumstances prevented Corey and Bobbie from going with us. However, on the Saturday before Mother's Day I was able to spend most of the day with Corey and Reagan which was alot of fun. Bobbie was out of town for her Mother's Day treat so we missed her. Corey invited me on Sunday for dinner but I had already made plans to take Betty to dinner. Sunday started off though with Chuck giving me the sweetest card ever and 2 DVD's. Next Corey and Nick both called me first thing to wish me a happy day. I lounged around and relaxed all day until later in the afternoon when we met Lynn, Danny and family, and Betty and Charlie for dinner at Texas Steakhouse. Food wasn't Chuck and my favorite but Betty enjoyed her Mother's Day and just getting together is always nice. Aundrea also called that afternoon to wish me a happy day. It was a different Mother's Day for me though .... my first without seeing my kids. Now I know how my Mom felt the times that I didn't make it down to see her. It just makes us appreciate the times we do have together more.

Then the next weekend we went to Louisville. Wow, what a great time and a beautiful city full of things to see and do. We got to see where Nick will be getting married. We went to Churchill Downs and got the gambling fever. Didn't bet on any winning horses but it was a fantistic time! Later we went to the riverboat for some more gambling. No wins again but fun! Ruthie was probably the biggest winner (winning twice on the horses and twice with the slots). Still don't understand why she didn't buy a lotto ticket on the way home! Nick was a big winner too --- way to go 4, 5 & 6!!!! He will always like those horses!!! We went out to eat at some great places. Our favorite was King Fish Grill (Nick and Shay treated me for my Mother's Day) --- the food was yummy, yummy and the view was breathtaking. We got to see alot and can't wait to visit again. A BIG THANKS to Ruthie and Shay's Dad for letting us stay with them and all of their generosity! Corey and Bobbie have mentioned trying to visit in July or August and I would love to go with them so we will see!

Well then this weekend was Memorial Day weekend. Nick came in to pack up and I guess I should say officially move (tears --- they keep a comming)! Corey and Bobbie and Chuck and I spent all day Saturday helping them pack and load up. I am excited for Nick as he seems really happy in KY and really likes his job. On Sunday, we grilled some turkey burgers and talked for a while before they had to head back. When they left and I got all sad, Corey hugged me and it could be worst --- it could be CA! Yes, 7 hours is alot closer and we WILL be able to visit. Thanks Corey for reminding me!!! Can't wait to see them again though!

Bobbie and Corey were invited to her Aunt Mary's for a Memorial Day cookout today and knowing that Chuck and I would be alone Mary invited us which was really sweet. We went over and had a ton of good food, visited with the chickens, saw the two new baby goats, looked at the rat and even peeked at the baby mice (I think that's what they were). Of course, Reagan entertained us all and that was the best part.

Well this week is going to be hectic for me since the workweek is only 4 days. Chuck is helping Corey with his air conditioning this week, helping Wes with hooking up their hot tub and getting ready for his class on Saturday.

And we are looking forward to next Sunday --- seems somone is having a birthday and of course there will be cake and ice cream and presents!!! Oh yeah, I forgot NO cake for the birthday boy ---- maybe brownies!!!!

I'm sure anyone readying this probably knows it all anyways but I can't seem to blog more than once each month. Maybe I'll get better.

Until next month,
Gayenelle
